Last week I had a quick trip to Denver with my son Stuart for a corporate event with Amway's Flying Eagles and to meet with the president of school we're taking on as a client this fall, Valor Christian High School.
I'm wrapping things up here at home and will leave on Monday to go to Portland for a meeting with the Murdoch foundation and Portland Christian Schools, to Colorado Springs to speak at the Summit, and to San Francisco to speak to the Christian Schools International leadership conference.
At the end of the week I'll leave for Johannesburg and then travel with our team to Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, on Sunday August 2. If you didn't see the Get Ready to Lead newsletter on the subject you can get a complete briefing here.
As soon as I return from Africa our family will travel to Colorado for three weeks, lots of work, but hopefully a good bit of play as well!
Finally, Paul found a great article on rites of passage. It's not too late to try some of these ideas in your church at the end of this summer, before students go off to college.
